“Temptation”- The Screenplay
I’m not sure if I should consider Tyler Perry’s
“Temptation” film an original or an adaptation because he wrote a play that had
the same plot but he used that to write the film. I commend Tyler Perry for
writing and producing some of the most realistic and relatable films. This film
really focuses on the story and the message that Perry is trying to portray. It
is about a small town country girl and her husband moving into a city to begin
their life and the wife ends up becoming very attracted to a rich, charming man
but has no clue what she is in for. There are so many twists in this movie that
will keep your eyes glues to the screen and it is so realistic that you even
learn a lesson by the end of the movie. This is the perfect movie to watch for
entertainment and to get a life message out of. I would describe Tyler Perry as
a little bit of every type of director. He directs, produces, writes, and stars
in his own movies. This is a perfect example of the Auteur Theory because he is
literally involved in every aspect of the film. In “Temptation”, the thing that
stuck out to me was the story itself. I am a fan of movies that can make you
feel exactly what some of the actors are feeling. If a director is able to make
a move that realistic where you really feel every emotion in the film then they
have accomplished their job.
